Harmosearch is a research and development project aimed at facilitating digital access to information for travel and tourism professionals. The European Harmosearch consortium brings together several research organizations (RTD‑performers) and SMEs, including Afidium.
The Harmosearch Project
The Harmosearch consortium aims to develop mechanisms that facilitate access to an open information network and enable different actors to find interesting sources of information.
Our mission is to create a dominant, flexible and user‑oriented framework enabling the development of information services in tourism networks!

The research focuses mainly on the development of a mapping tool to link different languages , and a meta‑searcher (a tool that retrieves information from several search engines) that will enable relevant information to be obtained from different systems . The user can therefore carry out their searches and obtain their information in a single format.
The principle of the Harmosearch project is similar in some respects to the solutions proposed by Afidium (system connection, Airline or Hotel portals), which allow the user to connect to their partners and carry out different transactions while presenting them with information or processes from different sources in a unique way, regardless of the language or system used by the partner.
Afidium and Harmosearch
Afidium brings its expertise in the tourism sector to the Harmosearch project, including information systems and exchange, interoperability, and connectivity between different systems. Our CEO, David Faveur, is one of the creators of the eXchange For Travel (XFT) language. Afidium also provides the Harmosearch consortium with a thorough understanding of the XFT exchange language and a deeper understanding of the French tourism market.
As part of the Harmosearch project, Afidium is in charge of the “ Demonstration Activities ” part. This involves establishing test notebooks on the mapping tool and the portal in order to ensure that the deliverables function correctly.
The need for unification and common platforms to facilitate exchanges is an issue to which we attach the greatest interest. We are convinced that these are effective solutions to the difficulties that can be encountered during their exchanges by the very different actors who make up the tourism industry.
A case to follow!
